<br />
Omar is a Dublin case who deported from Spain to Senegal in 2009. Omar studied cooking in Gambia when he left to Venezuela to continue his studies. He then traveled to Spain, where he was caught and deported to Senegal. After Senegal, he went to Burkina Faso, Mali and Libya. He stayed in Libya 2 years and then embarked on a smugglers' vessel with other migrants to cross the Mediterrean Sea. Their boat was rescued and escorted to the port of Trapani, Sicily.<br />
<br />
The CAS (Special Accommodation Center) in Salemi, Sicily, hosts a total of 77 migrants from Nigeria, Mali, Togo Senegal, Gambia, Bangladesh, Camerou, Egypt, Ivory Coast, Burkina Faso and Pakistan.

The CARA of Mineo includes 404 houses. Each housts from 7 to 11 asylum seekers.

Francis lives at the  the CARA (Accommodation Centre for Asylum Seekers) of Mineo, where approximaley 4,000 asylum seekers live. Francis was rescued on a boat carrying 750 asylum seekers from Ghana, Gambia, Nigeria, Syria and Pakistan on April 9th, 2014, after 11 hours in the Mediterranean Sea. He left Nigeria in 2009, then lived and worked in Libya for 13 months as a mechanic. He left Libya after his safety was theathened and was shot in a leg.<br />
<br />

"There's nothing, it's dead. Salemi is a prison. You eat and you sleep. That's it". Omar used to work as a merchant between Senegal and Gambia, before leaving Senegal in February 2013. <br />
