The party Forza Italia, consisting of the former People of Freedom (PdL), is a revival of a party with the same name, active from 1994 to 2009, when it was merged with National Alliance (AN) and several minor parties to form the Popolo della Libertà (PdL). As in 1994, the party's leader is Silvio Berlusconi, four-times Prime Minister of Italy.
